Kirk Wijesekera is a highly skilled and experienced business executive with a passion for team building and leadership. A former athlete and rugby player at St Peter’s, he has carried his athletic discipline and commitment to excellence into his career. Kirk started his career in 1999 as a management trainee at John Keells, where he worked his way up to the position of junior executive in 2005.
In 2005, Kirk joined Asia Siyaka Commodities as an executive and quickly established himself as a leader within the organization. He was promoted to the rank of Manager in 2014, Senior Manager in 2018, and ultimately to Vice President in 2022.
Kirk is responsible for spearheading the High and Medium team and plays a vital role in marketing the teas and managing close client relationships. With over 22 years of expertise as a valuer, tea taster, auctioneer, and tea broker, Kirk brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his work.Kirk is also a skilled teacher and mentor, guiding his team to conduct themselves ethically with integrity and honesty. His leadership has been recognized by the Colombo Tea Traders Association (CTTA), where he served as Convener. In this role, Kirk conducted a charity auction to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the tea industry, which included a limited edition of memorabilia. He successfully auctioned a sterling silver Gavel, and the proceeds raised were donated for the exclusive benefit of the children of plantation workers.
